Security Officer for Logistics Gate

About the role

As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location in Torrance, CA, you will help support a secure environment by screening personnel and visitors, monitoring access points, documenting activity, and responding to security-related concerns. This driving position requires a valid driver's license. You will deliver outstanding customer service while working with a dependable team that reflects Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and integrity-driven values.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vehicles entering the facility in accordance with site procedures, including verifying identification, access authorization, and required documentation.
• Monitor entry and exit points, inspect packages or materials as directed, and report unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating observations to site leadership and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, shipping and receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

$20.80 / hour

• Monday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Tuesday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Friday: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
