Job Responsibilities

• Patrols Center grounds
• Manages front desk for guest sign-in and temporary badges distribution
• Maintains that all staff and students wear ID badges
• Ensures the safety of staff, students, and visitors
• Controls, surveils, identifies, monitors, investigates, and reports on all matters pertaining to center property, facilities, students, staff, and visitors
• Ensures safety and security of staff, students, buildings, and property through patrols, inspections, and investigations
• Maintains logs; writes incident reports and accident documentation
• Conducts searches when required; assures accountability of students; completes student and visitor check-in and check-out procedures
• Conducts telephone switchboard and radio dispatch duties at main gate
• Provides positive, quality customer service to students and staff
• Transports students in rural or urban environments as needed
• Affords assistance with the development of new safety policies and procedures
• Participates in student employability programs and activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year's security experience
• The ability to occasionally lift and carry 50-70 pounds and frequently climb stairs for patrols, investigations, and emergencies
• A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management
