As a Security Officer Full Time Visitor Management in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Access Control Officer at a university location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence and clear communication will help deter incidents while supporting a welcoming environment. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and credentials, manage visitor access, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned campus buildings, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or access concerns.
• Support a welcoming educational environment by communicating clearly, following post orders, and assisting with security-related questions or directions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
