Security Officer Entry Level Full Time Afternoons

About the role

Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer in a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout office areas, lobbies, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry points, observe visitor and employee activity, and support access control processes in accordance with site policies and post instructions.
  • Report maintenance issues, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior observed during patrols so appropriate site personnel can be notified for follow-up.

Requirements

  • Access control and alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
