Security Officer - Entry Control

About the role

As a Security Officer Entry Control in South Bend, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Logistics & Distribution. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and help maintain an orderly environment. This role provides exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting security-related operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and delivery documentation, and control entry and exit of authorized personnel, vehicles, and vendors.
• Maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and access-control records in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access areas, loading zones, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
