About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Operations in Livonia, MI, you’ll have a fixed base schedule with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Scale your hours up to 40 per week or back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters per established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail store, parking areas, receiving locations, and surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other designated areas; assist with access control and help maintain an orderly environment for customers and staff.
• Document observations, incidents, and security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles, 21+ for armed roles).
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
