Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced for an unarmed patrol position in Laurel, MS. This role provides a fixed weekly shift with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts through the Claim-A-Shift program, allowing you to increase earnings and work up to 40 hours per week when desired.

Pay Rate: $15.45 / Hour

Schedule: Daytime, Friday 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

How this role works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next — it’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of food and beverage processing areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor, vehicle, and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Observe and report facility conditions that may affect operations, including unsecured doors, damaged fencing, and restricted-area access concerns.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
• Subject to background investigation and drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
