Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Inspection

Allied Universal offers a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position in Santa Cruz, CA, designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.
• This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail common areas, storefronts, parking areas, loading zones, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and vendor activity, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation while communicating professionally with site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Pay

Pay Rate: $20.60 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTime, Saturday 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
