This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Documentation in Rochester, NY, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

  • Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
  • Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor and report access control, visitor management, and restricted-area activity in accordance with site policies and applicable procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
  • Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and client representatives.

Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$17.75 / hour

Schedule

  • Thursday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Saturday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Sunday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
