Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, clergy, volunteers, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access support, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entry points, gathering spaces, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances and activity during worship services, community programs, and special events, assisting with visitor directions, crowd flow, and adherence to location policies.
• Support emergency and after-hours procedures by reporting hazards, assisting with evacuations and/or lockdown directions when appropriate, and coordinating with first responders and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
