Job Description
The Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position provides a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands‑on experience, or work toward a full‑time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part‑Time Entry Management in Houston, TX, you will have a reliable base schedule at an assigned site with the ability to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you.
How This Role Works
Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six‑month commitment.
Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours one week and full‑time the next, with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or passengers while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points at an airport location, verify credentials and authorization, and control entry to restricted or controlled areas in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Observe and report unauthorized access attempts, suspicious activity, and security‑related concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner and follow established notification and escalation protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, adjacent areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by assignment.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 6 months of security‑related experience.
- Customer service experience (preferred).
- Access control and badge experience (preferred).
- CPR certification (preferred).
- Comfort using a computer or tablet (preferred).
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as required by law.
- Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Pay
$16.97 per hour
Schedule
Daytime – Wednesday 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
