Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.
As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Credential Processing in Smithfield, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay
$17.17 / hour
Schedule
- Fixed-shift commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—up to 40 hours per week—with the option to scale back when needed.
- Example shift: Thursday 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and/or drivers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue access badges or passes, and maintain required access records.
- Screen incoming deliveries, vendors, and personnel in accordance with food and beverage facility policies and applicable site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
