Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Driver

About the role

This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As an Armed Patrol Driver in Reno, NV, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and check credentials as required, assisting with visitor management and reporting unauthorized entry attempts or policy violations.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports on incidents, patrol activities, observations, and other security-related matters in accordance with site procedures.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
• Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions.

$25.00 / hour

• Saturday: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
