Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) seeks an accomplished professional for the position of Security Officer, reporting to the Site Security Supervisor. Responsibilities
- Ensure the physical security and safety of Ensign-Bickford Industries and Simsbury Dyno Nobel through security enforcement, visitor and contractor access administration, vehicle control, and emergency response.
- Monitor alarms in Security Control and coordinate responses via radio communications, determining appropriate actions to correct alarm conditions.
- Control and monitor access of employees, contractors, and visitors, confirming authorization and escort requirements.
- Respond to emergencies, provide medical treatment as needed, and assist incident scene commanders.
- Perform property, building, grounds, and key station checks to maintain perimeter and building security; report issues for corrective action.
- Conduct mobile patrols for employee safety, enforce parking restrictions, and address violations.
- Maintain Security Department resources, including vehicles, trailers, and equipment; report deficiencies and manage resupply.
- Document incidents, visitors, contractors, alarms, and responses using electronic and paper forms.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- EMT Certification (Connecticut Certification required).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must obtain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) possessor license as a condition of employment.
- General knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, composition, and spelling for report writing.
- Ability to read, understand, and enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong communication skills to provide directions, answer questions, and explain rules.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with state and local government personnel.
- Maintain composure when dealing with resistant or hostile individuals.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
- Ability to perform essential job functions as outlined in the Physical Requirements & Work Conditions document.
