Security Officer - Emergency Room Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Professional - Unarmed to work in a hospital environment. The role involves conducting foot and vehicle patrols, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, assisting with patient de-escalation, transporting patients, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle
• Document detailed observations of unusual conditions
• Absorb and communicate with the public
• Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients
• Restrict access to unauthorized individuals
• Monitor entrances and exits
• Prepare and maintain written logs
• Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current driver's license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
• At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state
• Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Able to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable employment history relating customer service or the protective service industry (preferably security, healthcare, military, law enforcement, or corrections)
• Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
• Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
• Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service

$17.50 / hour

Schedule

Day Shift (0600 - 1400) and Night Shift (1400 - 2200)
