As a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced (Armed Emergency Response Driver) in Reno, NV, you will have a fixed‑shift commitment (anchor shift) with a six‑month base schedule, plus the ability to claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites, allowing you to work part‑time one week and full‑time the next, with the option to scale back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control practices, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking facilities, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following applicable post orders and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry as directed, while documenting visitor activity, incidents, patrols, and other security‑related observations.
• Maintain required armed post qualifications and handle assigned equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, site procedures, and applicable laws.

Requirements

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security‑related experience or a college degree.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
