Security Officer Emergency Dispatch

About the role

As a Security Officer Emergency Dispatch in Tuscaloosa, AL, you will coordinate communications, monitor incoming calls and alarms, document incidents, and dispatch appropriate personnel to support a secure healthcare environment. Your professionalism, clear communication, and customer service will help address security-related concerns while supporting staff, patients, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
• Receive, prioritize, and dispatch calls for assistance, routine service requests, alarms, and critical incidents using established communication systems and procedures.
• Maintain clear, accurate logs of calls, dispatch activity, incidents, and communications; relay relevant information to appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site-specific policies.
• Monitor communications, alarms, and assigned systems to support timely response and help maintain continuity of healthcare operations.

Requirements

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
