Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking facilities, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with directions, campus information, and access-related inquiries while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations.
