About the role
This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader. As a Security Officer Education Center Driver in Bethpage, NY, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and community members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational campus location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access to campus facilities, verify visitor authorization as directed, and maintain awareness of individuals entering and exiting the location.
- Prepare clear and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures.
Requirements
- Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$22.74 / hour

- Friday: 02:00 PM - 06:00 PM
- Sunday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
