About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will monitor entry points, verify badges and credentials, conduct routine patrols, and support a professional environment through strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. You will help to deter security-related incidents while acting with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by following access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, and document visitor activity in support of authorized access to the location.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues through appropriate channels when needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and support security-related procedures.
- Communicate with site contacts, staff, and/or the public regarding rules, directions, and access requirements while supporting daily security-related operations.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$18.50 / Hour

- Wednesday: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
- Thursday: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
