About the role
As a Security Officer Driver in Ontario, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Retail/Malls and more. As an Access Control Officer at a retail distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, monitor access activity, and provide customer service. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license meeting Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Using computer or tablet systems, you will document security-related information and support an orderly environment through integrity, teamwork, and a caring, reliable, and innovative culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to associates, delivery drivers, vendors, and visitors at a retail distribution location while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and vehicle logs, and direct authorized personnel to appropriate check-in areas.
- Help to deter unauthorized access by observing access-control systems, reporting irregularities, and following established escalation procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including access concerns, delivery traffic issues, and emergency-related events.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
