About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a logistics and distribution location in Detroit, MI, you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and conduct routine patrols to maintain a secure environment. You will remain visible to deter incidents while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and facility personnel while carrying out site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, maintain visitor and driver logs, and direct individuals to appropriate check-in areas.
• Control access for employees, contractors, delivery personnel, and vehicles in accordance with established procedures to deter unauthorized entry.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations calmly; notify appropriate personnel and complete required reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, dock areas, and the facility perimeter; report unusual activity or security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

$17.43 / hour

• Monday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Saturday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Sunday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
