Security Officer - Days or Nights

About the role

Gain diverse experience in a healthcare setting as a resource for staff, patients, and visitors. This position will work a mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts totaling 80 hours in a 14-day cycle. Work either a day, swing, or night shift to include every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Enforces policies and procedures with all patients/residents, visitors and staff.
• Patrols and secures facility buildings and grounds as assigned.
• Maintains records and prepares incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
• Responds to all requests for assistance from employees, patients/residents and visitors.
• Assists with any and all situation; i.e., problem-solving with positive outcomes.
• May escort personnel to and from parking areas as requested.
• Maintains awareness of local laws which affect the way individuals conduct themselves on private property.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• College or vocational education is preferred.
• Prior experience healthcare security, contract security and/or law enforcement is highly preferred.
• May require a current valid driver's license with Sanford insurability dependent upon region.
• Basic certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety preferred within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Communicate effectively with all customers.
• Demonstrate the physical ability to perform basic security officers functions as trained.

Skills

• Ability to prioritize calls for service in order of urgency based on safety needs.
