About the role
As a Security Officer in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and assist students, staff, and visitors with professionalism. You will use communication and customer service skills to help foster a welcoming environment while working with a reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

- Full Time
- Day Time: Monday through Friday, 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, damaged property, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrol observations, and other security-related events.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Qualifications
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
