About the role

As a Security Officer Licensed Customer Service Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with property management and/or public emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout building common areas, lobbies, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other assigned areas to help support authorized access, observe daily building activity, and report maintenance, life emergency, and/or property-related issues.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, provide clear updates during shift handoff, and follow Allied Universal post orders and client-directed policies.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
