As a Security Officer Credential Verification in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic utilities location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support badge access processes while providing outstanding customer service and communication. In this role, you will help promote a secure environment through visible presence and attentive site awareness. What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or identification, and document visitor and vehicle activity in accordance with access authorization protocols.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observed issues to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, access concerns, and/or security-related policy violations.
- Support screening and checkpoint operations by controlling access to restricted areas, maintaining accurate logs, and following post orders for deliveries, contractors, and authorized personnel.
Minimum Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
