About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location in Freeport, TX, you will manage entry points, verify credentials including TSA-issued TWIC cards, monitor access activity, and communicate professionally with employees, visitors, and contractors. Your visible presence will help deter security-related incidents while supporting a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorizations, issue visitor and contractor passes, maintain visitor logs, and report access discrepancies in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, unauthorized access attempts, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access-control areas, entry gates, parking areas, administrative buildings, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Complete accurate shift reports, incident documentation, and access-control records while communicating relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.
Requirements
- Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
