About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location in West Columbia, SC, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor badge activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will help identify and report security-related concerns while delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and manage access control points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, common areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and report unusual conditions.
• Support a professional, welcoming environment while following Allied Universal and site-specific reporting, communication, and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

$17.51 / hour
