As a Security Officer Commercial Office in Riverhead, NY, this Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. The role includes a fixed‑shift (“anchor shift”) commitment for a designated site and weekly schedule (six‑month commitment) and the ability to claim extra shifts via the scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites, allowing you to scale from part‑time to up to 40 hours per week as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government motor vehicle services location by carrying out site‑specific procedures and responding to questions or concerns.
• Monitor access points, public service areas, and parking areas; observe and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility interior, exterior, perimeter, and parking areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift documentation; communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Successfully pass a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements mandated by state and/or local laws (may be required prior to employment).
• Hold a valid driver’s license only if the position involves driving duties.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Pay

$22.74 per hour

Schedule

Fixed anchor shift: Friday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM (six‑month commitment). Ability to claim additional shifts via the scheduling platform to increase earnings and work up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back as needed.
