Security Officer - Checkpoint Screening

About the role

As a Security Officer - Checkpoint Screening in Boise, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a dynamic tech location, where you will monitor entry points, screen visitors and team members, and support access control while delivering outstanding customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and security-related policies at a technology-focused location.
• Screen and verify identification, credentials, packages, and/or personal items as required for entry, while documenting irregularities and referring concerns through appropriate channels.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant details to site contacts and/or emergency responders when appropriate.
• Monitor assigned entry points and screening equipment, observe activity for unusual behavior or unauthorized access attempts, and help to deter policy violations through visible presence and professional interaction.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, noting conditions that may impact operations and reporting security-related concerns according to site procedures.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum age requirement for unarmed roles: 18 years old.
• Minimum age requirement for armed roles: 21 years old.
