About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a retail location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide welcoming customer service to shoppers, employees, and visitors. Your visible presence and clear communication will help support a secure environment and help deter incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, shoppers, employees, and vendors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor and manage entry points, verify authorized access, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access-related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting events as required.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, sales areas, receiving locations, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help identify security-related concerns.
• Help maintain an orderly retail environment by observing for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, and policy violations, and reporting concerns through established channels.

Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$15.93 / hour

• Day shift: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Monday through Friday)
