About the role
As an Access Control Officer at a utilities location, you will manage access points, verify credentials, support badge processes, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors, document activity, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, process visitor and contractor entry, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
- Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facilities, and perimeter areas to help identify unauthorized entry or unusual activity.
- Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding access-related concerns, incidents, and policy questions.
Requirements
- At least two years of security-related experience is required.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Monday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
- Wednesday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Thursday: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Sunday: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM
