Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer is an armed position serving as the point of contact for security related issues. This position also patrols on foot and in vehicles industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates surrounding the base.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize base access; entrance and departures of employees and visitors.
• Respond to emergencies and crimes in progress, coordinate with local law enforcement, call fire department and report emergencies.
• Establish Cordons, Entry Control Points, Traffic Control Points, use the Incident Command System
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Patrol Air Base property to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of Air Force assets.
• Follow security related SOPs.
• Maintain surveillance of flight-line and guard government assets.
• Monitor traffic on base and make traffic stops accordingly.
• Report any suspicious activity.
• Detain subjects.
• Operate RADAR.
• Investigate reported crimes.
• Participate in random drug testing program.
• Participate in company training.
• Drive between locations.
• Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• A valid state driver’s license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Calista’s Driving Policy.
• Ability to perform shift work.
• Ability to pass contract required medical exam, physical exertion test, and operate a firearm with the required level of accuracy.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Ability to pass drug and background screening.
