Security Officer
About the role
The Security Officer protects the interests of the Hospital by patrolling buildings and grounds, enforcing procedural rules and regulations, and ensuring the personal safety of staff, visitors, families and property. Maintains security and safety for assigned areas. Maintains a working knowledge of the locations of various departments, buildings, access routes and admitting requirements. Responds to emergency situations, and documents any incidents. Provides logistical support including, scheduling LaVan and Oncology ride services and ensuring hospital vehicle maintenance. Escorts personnel to and from parking lots and performs other job-related tasks as needed.

Responsibilities
- Patrols Hospital buildings and grounds.
- Patrols assigned areas including garages and other parking areas.
- Checks for suspicious occurrences and enforces property rules and regulations.
- Verifies vehicles in Hospital and private parking lots for authorized parking stickers.
- Issues parking violation warnings and tags and requests towing when necessary.
- Opens and closes off-site facilities, ensuring that users have left the premises.
- Secures and alarms said facilities.
- Reports security and general maintenance problems to proper authorities.
- Permits authorized personnel to enter property; controls keys; perform additional functions incidental to security.
