Responsibilities
- Consistently observes safety and security procedures.
- Vigilant in observations for potentially unsafe conditions and reports to management.
- Immediately reports situations, unusual circumstances (fire, security violations, safety, other hazards) to Shift Supervisor/Manager.
- Conduct investigations of property loss, fires, accidents, and other incidents as directed.
- Patrol inside and outside, conduct rounds, per procedure, on foot or in the security vehicle to provide a safe and secure environment for visitors and employees.
- Responds immediately to alarms and radio hails.
- Conduct package, area, vehicle, and person searches following policy and procedure.
- Consistently checks all points of entry and exit, physical barriers, and security equipment for readiness.
- Aid visitors and provide escorts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Inspect fire extinguishers and other facility safety devices as directed.
- Secure and/or unlock facilities, offices, and other areas per policy.
- Provide for and enforce visitor and access control procedures.
- Prepare reports as required by departmental policy and procedure.
- Respond to calls for assistance and take appropriate action.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergencies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- NYS Security Guard License
- NYS Driver’s License
- CPR or BLS certification
- 2-5 years’ experience
