As a Security Officer at Westgate Resorts, you help keep our resort safe, secure, and welcoming. This role blends security responsibilities with hospitality-focused service, ensuring our guests, team members, and property are protected while creating a friendly and supportive environment. Responsibilities
- Serve as the first responder to police, fire, and medical incidents within the scope of Security Officer duties.
- Maintain a visible, uniformed security presence across assigned resort areas.
- Control access at designated entry and exit points.
- Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and fire alarm panels, in compliance with legal and company requirements.
- Conduct routine safety and security inspections following established procedures.
- Maintain accurate security records, logs, and checklists.
- Prepare clear, timely, and detailed incident reports using computer systems and email.
- Assist guests and team members with security-related concerns and service requests.
- Manage lost and found inventory, key control, and accountability.
- Perform traffic control, parking enforcement, assist public safety officers, and complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field is preferred (minimum of 1 year), but not required.
- South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) certification preferred; if not certified, must pass the certification exam within 30 days of hire.
- Certificates in First Aid, CPR, and AED highly preferred but not required.
- Prior hospitality or guest service experience strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems used to complete reports, logs, and email communication.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Excellent judgment, integrity, and attention to detail.
