Security Officer

About the role

As a Security Officer at The Forest at Duke, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a safe and secure environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide necessary security and transportation services
• Write clear, concise, and thorough reports, including daily activity and incident logs
• Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision
• Stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Work exterior posts in inclement weather
• Respond to emergency calls from residents, vendors, team members, and follow department procedures to properly handle the situation
• Maintain positive and professional relationships and interactions with residents, guests, vendors, contractors, and staff

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must hold and maintain a valid NC Driver’s license (able to drive community vehicles)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for extended periods of time, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work exterior posts in inclement weather
• Basic typing skills & computer knowledge
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English
• Must be able to maintain positive and professional relationships and interactions with residents, guests, vendors, contractors, and staff

Qualifications

• Must have a valid NC Driver’s license
