Responsibilities
- Check and secure buildings in a timely manner
- Open College facilities when scheduled
- Frequently monitor College buildings and grounds to prevent incidents
- Provide assistance and security during emergencies
- Respond to medical emergencies and investigate incidents
- Keep a daily activity log
- Enforce campus parking regulations
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A high school degree completion or equivalent is required
- An Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred
- Two years’ work experience in law enforcement, public safety, security, or corrections is required
- A personal history free of criminal convictions that legally preclude employment in a position of trust is required
- Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal skills are required
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic criminal law is required
Benefits
College Security Officers shall not act in the capacity as a law enforcement officer nor present themselves as being a law enforcement officer under any circumstance. Security officers will notify law enforcement personnel in such cases where criminal activity is observed.
