Security Officer

About the role

Surefox North America Inc is a veteran-owned company dedicated to fostering a diverse and talented workforce. We are currently seeking an experienced Incident Commander to join our dynamic team in the Bay Area. The ideal candidate will work on uniquely assigned projects under the guidance of Shift Supervisors and Area Managers for top Silicon Valley clients.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between Surefox and its clients, providing emergency response and handling client requests.
• Respond to emergency events, medical and non-medical issues, and assist with initial responses.
• Initiate preliminary investigations by writing incident reports on all internal client and company issues.
• Conduct patrols, monitor access, deter unauthorized entry, and enforce security measures.
• Collaborate with a Security Operations Center by responding to calls for service, reporting suspicious activity, and assisting with initial responses.
• Respond promptly and safely to emergencies, contacting first responders as needed, and taking initial action to control and secure a scene.
• Proactively investigate and report accidents, incidents, or other suspicious activity.
• Verify identification of employees, vendors, or guests and control access using badges or other credentials.
• Document security events, observations, and routine activity in detailed Daily Activity Reports or Incident Reports.
• Perform light front desk duties such as greeting visitors, providing directions, verifying access, and creating a positive first impression.
• Aid employees and provide a professional, welcoming environment for visitors and clients.
• Proactively de-escalate situations and address concerns with courtesy and professionalism.
• Work independently and adapt to varying work paces while remaining focused and energetic.

Requirements

• Eligible for employment within the United States.
• Aged 18 years or older per state licensing guidelines.
• Pass an extensive background check and drug screening.
• Lives within driving distance or willing to relocate.
• Has a current BSIS guard card or is eligible to qualify for one.
• Holds a high school degree or equivalent.
• Has a current CPR & First Aid certification or is eligible to qualify for one.
• Demonstrates competence in reacting to and handling emergencies.
• Effective communicator with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Understands and follows written and verbal instructions.
• Able to work independently and as a team member.
• Able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders.

Preferred

• Military background is strongly preferred.
• Security or law enforcement related experience.
• Report writing experience.
