Security Officer – Full time, 11p-7:30a at our beautiful Timonium, MD campus.
About the role
Perform security and safety patrols and operate communications equipment to ensure the safety and security of residents, staff, visitors, and property.
Responsibilities
- Scan monitors at work station and surrounding area frequently to ensure safety and security.
- Follow department procedures, including badge checks and late bus logs.
- Conduct guard tours at scheduled times, remaining alert for wandering or confused residents.
- Report all safety or hazardous emergency situations immediately.
- Record all occurrences and maintenance needs on proper forms before the end of the shift.
- Respond to fire alarms or emergency situations as trained, ensuring emergency assistance is responding.
- Respond to calls for service, disruptive or emergency situations; investigate, restore order, resolve problems, and submit reports as necessary.
- Direct traffic and enforce parking compliance.
- Operate the switchboard efficiently: answer calls promptly and courteously, page and make announcements, take and refer messages accurately.
- Contact appropriate personnel (Pastoral Care, Home Care, Building Services, etc.) to respond to family and staff crises promptly.
- Greet visitors, vendors, etc., offering directions or assistance; notify departments of visitor presence when appropriate.
Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
Pay
USD $17.05 – $25.30 per hour. Compensation decisions are based on internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
