Security Officer
About the role
Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
Conduct yourself as a security professional at all times, creating an atmosphere to deter undesirable activity.
Greet all staff and visitors whenever practical to maintain a consistent visible presence.
Screen pedestrian and vehicular traffic for authorization to enter the premises.
Operate various equipment, such as card access, fire and burglar alarm, video cameras, and ministry vehicles.
Report hazardous conditions and follow all call-in procedures in case of emergency.
Identify threatening individuals and alert local law enforcement.
Be familiar with all Samaritans Purse facilities, policies, procedures, and regulations that affect the safety and security of all occupants.
Monitor activity across campus through regular physical patrols and the use of video surveillance.
Control access to campus during non-business hours; open/close and secure all buildings as scheduled.
Document all noteworthy activity in the shift log or appropriate incident report.

Requirements
- Basic Law Enforcement Training and minimum 2 years experience as a Law Enforcement Officer or equivalent, required
- Must be eligible to complete/pass annual PPS training and certification as a PPS Officer through the North Carolina State Attorney General's office
- Basic keyboarding and computer skills, strongly preferred
- Motivated self-starter; sees a need and takes initiative
- Trustworthy and mature
- Patient when tasks are routine, but quick on their feet to respond to a crisis
- Fluency in English, required
- 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies, strongly preferred
Qualifications & Experience

- $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
