Security Officer

Rome Health is seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer to join our Security team at our main campus. The security officer will maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property while providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities
- Patrol hospital property and monitor surveillance systems to maintain a safe and secure environment
- Respond promptly and professionally to hospital emergency codes, including fire alarms, security assistance calls, and active threat situations
- Control vehicle and pedestrian traffic as needed
- Investigate incidents, security breaches, and suspicious activity
- Complete detailed reports documenting observations, incidents, and security activities
- Perform routine inspections and assist with preventive maintenance of security equipment
- Provide assistance and support to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Security Guard License (Guard Card) required
- Basic computer skills required
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency situations
- Previous healthcare or security experience preferred, but not required
Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 4 hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
Schedule
This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM; however, flexibility is required to assist with coverage for vacations, call-ins, and other staffing needs.
