Security Officer

About the role

Location: Puyallup Tribal Health Authority, Tacoma, WA (On‑Site). Help create a safe and supportive environment as a Security Officer. You’ll patrol campus and clinic sites, respond to threats, use de‑escalation, provide customer service, monitor surveillance, partner with law enforcement, and maintain logs. PTHA is a culturally grounded, patient‑first health and wellness center serving the Indigenous community, valuing teamwork, integrity, and community well‑being.

Responsibilities

• Regularly patrol campus and other clinic sites to maintain a safe and welcoming environment
• Respond calmly and effectively to suspicious behavior, potential threats, or emergencies
• Use de‑escalation techniques to resolve conflicts and maintain peace
• Provide exceptional customer service, assist with directions, jumpstarts, escorts, and more
• Monitor surveillance cameras, secure areas, and ensure safety protocols are followed
• Partner with local law enforcement when needed
• Maintain daily logs, incident reports, and manage access systems

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• At least 18 months of experience in a Security Officer role with a focus on customer contact via patrols
• Familiarity with card readers, surveillance systems
