Security Officer

About the role

The Security Officer and Senior Security Officer roles at Swedish Medical Center provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property. Both positions require the highest level of customer service skills and specific training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct random patrols of Swedish Medical Center property
• Respond to and investigate security incidents
• Report safety hazards
• Document actions and observations made during the shift
• Respond to alarms and codes by providing traffic control and assisting with safe patient handling

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
• TASER Training and Certification annually within 90 days of hire
• AVADE/HDTS (Healthcare Defensive Tactics System) Training and Certification within 90 days of hire
• Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred
• At least 3 years of related civilian or military security/law enforcement experience, including at least two years in healthcare security
• Customer service experience and Hospital Incident Command System training preferred

Skills

Highly developed customer service skills, ability to work independently, and strong physical fitness are essential.

Pay

The base pay range for the Security Officer and Senior Security Officer positions is provided. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
