Security Officer
About the role
Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor, or Lead Security Officer. Performs a variety of security responsibilities to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property, and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, hazardous materials, and illegal entry. Enforces Providence Health Care, facility, and security policies and regulations.
Investigates reports of potential criminal conduct against PRMCE staff, visitors, staff, and property; responds and assists in restraining patients; detains individuals when necessary; provides protective services to high-risk areas; and performs Notary services. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organization in emergent situations in the local service area.
Responsibilities
- Protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property, and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, hazardous materials, and illegal entry.
- Enforce Providence Health Care, facility, and security policies and regulations.
- Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct.
- Respond and assist in restraining patients when necessary.
- Detain individuals as required.
- Provide protective services to high-risk areas.
- Perform Notary services.
- Support Providence or affiliated organizations in emergent situations.
Requirements
- Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Proof of driver license and auto insurance will be required upon request.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferred.
- 1 year of Law Enforcement/Security/Military experience or 2 years of responsible work experience.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Related college coursework may substitute for 1 year of experience.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $23.39 - $35.78 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
Full time with a variable shift.
