Security Officer
About the role
Security Officer (full time, variable shift position) at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations.
- Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property; respond and assist in restraining patients; detain individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provide protective services to high risk areas.
- Mobile positions will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient standbys, alarm/nuisance call response, special details and assist in training of clinic personnel.
- May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organizations within the Oregon Region.

- Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training
- Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training
- PS-20 Private Security Temporary Work Permit
- Driving may be necessary as part of this role.
Qualifications
- Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training
- Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training
- Upon hire: PS-20 Private Security Temporary Work Permit
- Required Qualifications:
- 1 year Experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.
- College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science.
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- 1 year Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve and military police.
- Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.
Skills
- Knowledge of security policies and procedures.
- Ability to enforce and interpret security regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR.

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
