About the role
Presque Isle Downs & Casino, conveniently located off of I-90 in Erie, PA, features table games, slots, sportsbook, entertainment, live thoroughbred horse racing, and year-round simulcast racing. The casino offers the latest technology and amenities designed for guest comfort and expectations, including three restaurants such as Churchill’s Bourbon & Brew and LBV Steakhouse.
Security Officers are responsible for incident reporting, checking identification to ensure compliance with various agencies, and escorting guests and employees throughout the facility. Full and part-time positions are available, with full-time roles eligible for benefits in as little as 30 days.
Responsibilities
- Write reports of all incidents that occur.
- Ensure guest safety and compliance with the rules and regulations of the PGCB, PLCB, the PHRC, and Presque Isle Downs standard operating procedures.
- Check identification of patrons professionally and courteously.
- Maintain a neat appearance and excellent communication skills.
- Aid in the destruction of used cards and dice from table games.
- Escort fills, credits, and documents to and from the cage and pit.
- Ensure vacant, nonfixed slot seating is tucked in and aisle ways are maintained.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Security experience is a plus; prior customer service experience is essential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
- Intermediate PC skills with Microsoft Office experience.
- Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and employees.
- Basic math ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
Skills
- Language Ability: Read and interpret documents, write reports, and speak effectively before groups.
- Math Ability: Perform basic arithmetic operations.
- Reasoning Ability: Solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office.
