We’re looking for a reliable Security Officer to join our Security team with a flexible work schedule at our Ypsilanti Plant (775 James L Hart Parkway).

Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and security of premises, products, and personnel
- Review security footage and monitor building entrances, exits, and grounds
- Monitor and escort visitors/contractors as required
- Document activity on security videos, patrols, and monitor staff, intrusion, and fire alarm functionality
- Run, update, and write reports (security, incident, activity, alarm, lottery ticket shredding, key scan reports)
- Provide assistance to employees, customers, contractors, visitors, and vendors
- Manage employee badges (new, replacements, temps)
- Perform orientations and authorizations for new employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors
- Process criminal record checks
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Report writing skills
- Intermediate computer usage skills
- Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Previous experience in law enforcement or security field (preferred)
- Law enforcement or military experience is an asset
- Ability to defuse conflict and remain calm in critical situations
- Ability to distinguish right from wrong and detect suspicious activity
- Ability to manage stress and identify emergencies requiring law enforcement
- Ability to make independent, sound judgment decisions within policy and procedures
- Ability to work alone with limited supervision in a diverse environment
- Ability to maintain accurate records and write clear, concise reports
- Ability to work courteously and respectfully with all levels of an organization
Physical Demands
- Extended periods of walking, kneeling, bending, and standing
- Lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs
- Long duration of concentration in front of computer and surveillance monitoring
- Must wear steel toe shoes, hearing protection, gloves, masks, and other PPE as required
