Security Officer

About the role

Serve and protect the guests, staff and physical assets of Palisades Tahoe, while maintaining the Company service standards, safety policies and procedures.

Employment may be subject to a job-related background check, as permitted by company policy and procedure.

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe environment for staff and guests 24 hours a day.
• Patrols the Resort and provide protection to all guests and employees.
• Always be visible and accessible, watching for criminal activity, violations of the Courtesy Code, and assisting guests.
• Checks doors and windows of buildings to ensure they are tightly closed and locked; notes unlocked doors/windows in the Daily Log; submits information to supervisors and managers.
• Transports guests and staff as needed.
• Unlocks and/or locks doors as requested by appropriate staff.
• Identifies safety hazards and either remedies the problem or reports to Risk/Safety Manager.
• Responds to alarms and dispatched calls; decides what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations.
• Maintains comprehensive Daily Log.
• Interacts with fire department and law enforcement as required and assists all departments when necessary.
• Completes accurate and thorough incident reports.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures.
• Able to follow all policies and procedures contained in Security Manual.
• Effective communication skills, oral & written.
• Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness.
• Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Have a neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards.
• Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time in all weather conditions.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Skill in observing situations and decision making.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.

Job Requirements

• 21 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Drivers License and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• A valid California Security License issued by the BSIS (Preferred)
• Basic CPR/AED and first aid training (Preferred)
• One year security experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred)
