Security Officer
Responsibilities
- Control entrance-exit to the facility, log entries and exits, and coordinate with departments.
- Conduct patrols and conduct searches of personnel and vehicles to ensure security and compliance.
- Inspect fire extinguishers, spill kits, and other firefighting/protection equipment monthly.
- Participate in quarterly drills for safety, security, and fire emergencies.
- Document and report findings from inspections and investigations.
- Command post details using CCTV and dispatch reports to supervision.
- Monitor unattended access points through closed circuit television.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Good judgment and mental alertness.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of systems and procedures.
- May have specialized skill training.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- Minimum 2 years of military experience and/or civilian industrial security/safety programs.
- Acquire and maintain NY State Security Guard License.
- Certified by American Red Cross for first aid and CPR.
- Maintain annual guard license and certification.
Physical Requirements
- Up to 10% travel within NY State and to external states and localities based on business need.
Pay
The estimated salary range for this position is $52,240 - $78,360. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
